The holidays are always stressful for my family and probably for other families as well. What’s the best tip you can give for dealing with this stress?
Every holiday season has a common thread: stress. Everywhere you look families are rushing about attending holiday recitals, shows and parties. Parents are in the big push to finish (or in some cases, start) their holiday shopping. In all of the hustle and bustle, we often find ourselves losing sight of the true meaning of the holiday season.
While the gifts and parties are certainly a plus, the holidays are a time to be with our families, reflect on the highlights of the year and appreciate what we have together. In light of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, more than ever we need to stop and take a moment to be mindful. Instead of worrying about who you still need gifts for, take the time to tell your friends and family how much you love them and what you appreciate about them.
