Our professional and caring staff is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of your family, and our cutting edge center provides a unique and welcoming environment that parents and children both enjoy. Most importantly, our curriculum is grounded in the latest research on family development – consistently refined and adapted to extend beyond our center and into your home.
Our History
Co-Founded by Mary Jane Rotheram-Borus Ph.D., UCLA professor of clinical psychology, and Diane Flannery, Ph.D., The Commons’ Santa Monica-based center opened doors in February 2010 – providing an extensive portfolio of age-appropriate wellness programs to families throughout Los Angeles' Westside communities. The Commons was launched with a commitment to transforming science into practical training models that are applied in various program formats and reinforced through curated learning materials. What is now identified as "Take Home Wellness," is being applied through The Commons' home center in Santa Monica as well as their satellite site within the Robert F. Kennedy School in Koreatown.
